Cancer-related bone diseases can result from the consequences of cancer treatment or from cancer spreading to the bone, known as bone metastases. Bone metastases can affect nearly all of patients with multiple myeloma1 and can result in significant pain and disability - possibly resulting in a number of serious bone complications including fracture or spinal cord injury and the need for procedures like radiation or surgery.
